In‑vehicle Digital Experience

Ford + Zoom

2023–2025

“To enhance Ford and Lincoln customers’ time inside the vehicle, Ford is launching the Zoom app, built and customized specifically for vehicles in the U.S. equipped with the all-new Ford and Lincoln Digital Experience. With the new digital cabin, customers can bring along everything they love about their digital life, including their favorite apps to be entertained, unwind, or to stay productive on the go — all without a smartphone...”

Design Challenge

This project involved integrating the Zoom app—a third‑party app—into Ford’s digital ecosystem. The challenge lay in adapting an existing app experience to meet the unique requirements of the in‑vehicle environment, including stringent safety standards, optimized usability for drivers and passengers, and alignment with Ford and Lincoln brand guidelines. The solution needed to balance functionality with an immersive, intuitive interface while ensuring seamless compatibility with in‑vehicle hardware and interaction patterns.

My Contributions

I served as the lead designer, guiding the project from early low‑fidelity wireframes to detailed specifications, hero screens, and high‑fidelity prototypes. I led rapid design iterations based on leadership reviews and stakeholder feedback, refining both functional and aesthetic elements to achieve the desired experience. My work included close collaboration with developers through every build phase, from implementation to testing—ensuring technical feasibility, design fidelity, and feature stability. I partnered with cross‑functional teams—engineering, product management, and others—to align on requirements and prioritize the customer experience.

One of the standout features I led was the innovative use of the vehicle’s panoramic screen to create a distinctive, immersive meeting experience. This required multiple design explorations, extensive testing, and stakeholder presentations to gain alignment and approval.

I look forward to sharing more once the feature officially launches in production.
